Hands down the BEST restaurant in El Calafate! If you are looking for good quality Argentine steak and lamb, this is the point! The service was super efficient, the staff was very friendly and patient with us not Spanish speakers. Your parts are huge! Our steak was about 20 ounces (served 2) and ready for perfection and the calendered ice cream sealed the deal. You'll have a tough time in Mi Viejo. Every day at 6:45 a.m. there is a line outside the restaurant with steak lovers who hope to go in. It reminded me of Black Friday in the USA. LOL The best option is to make a reservation before time.
We wanted to give the Calafate “Cordero” one more chance and this place didn’t fail. It was very well cooked. This sizes enough to share, we had 2 portions of Cordero for 3 and we were perfect. Wine list very assorted from pricey to affordable giving a good range of choice. Service was excellent and up to it all the time. Restrooms very clean and confortable. Desserts excellent also! Very nice place with its decorations. Recommendation: make reservations as it is totally full 10 mins after it opens its doors.
So confused at the recent bad reviews! I went here for dinner and there was no queue, but it looked busy inside and the atmosphere just perfect. Families, couples, and friends alike. Ordered the cordero asado absolutely incredible, best lamb I’ve ever tried. My husband (a typical Argentine and meat connoisseur) ordered the bife de chorizo and said it was perfect too. I tried his BDC, but really the lamb was the star of the show. The lamb was actually enough for two people to share, so we cleaned my leftovers and the waiters kindly packed it for us with some bread to make sandwiches for the next day. The service was impeccable and the price excellent. Would recommend this place highly.
We found this place after a walk in an afternoon and booked a table so glad we did when we arrived at a busy and friendly restaurant on a Saturday night. We were made very cordially by our fabulous waiter (Ariel) who provided helpful information about dishes and portion advice. We went for the specialty Cordero and it was amazing- the best lamb rib we've ever eaten. Very much recommend this beautiful local restaurant to anyone who visits the area!
