Yes, no problem, we can make you something. He then started ordering the waitress to quickly prepare a table for us. It all seemed a bit desperate, but benefit of the doubt... We ordered 3 galettes and a salad. The salad came with cheese, but they could remove this if we wanted. Could we replace the cheese with something else from the menu, we asked the waitress. She responded by saying that the owner didn't like to do that, which seemed a bit odd. So, the salad came, and it was fine. The galettes, again, were fine but nothing to write home about. The shocker was the price £13 for a green salad. I argued that the main ingredient had been removed, but no, the owner doesn't change the prices when he changes a dish. I could see why he didn't want to replace the cheese with something else he must have been laughing! Do yourself a favour go somewhere else, this guy will rip you off if he can.
We had lunch here on a Thursday. We were fortunate to get seats since the town and the restaurant were very crowded. The owner gave us a friendly welcome asking what language we wished to speak with him – French or English. Very nice. Despite the crowded restaurant, service was fast and efficient. We each had a galette along with a pichet of Reisling. The galettes were excellent and the wine was very tasty as well. There is inside and terrace seating but no seating on the street. Prices are average but the food, service, and friendliness are above average. A highly recommended place for lunch in a very touristy town.
Back to Eguisheim after many years flambé tarte and crepe as we remember in this beautiful village and served with a smile.
Accueil au top. Restaurant parfait pour une pause gourmande avec des enfants pour les galettes et crêpes et aussi pour les parents avec les tartes flambées. Bon rapport qualité / prix. Je recommande!
Eguisheim is a small town and we couldn’t find any dedicated GF restaurant. But this nice crêperie was very accommodating. They were sensitive to our requests for a GF meal, and they offered to clean the grill before cooking a GF crepe for our GF kid. All of us enjoyed our crepes a lot. The owner and their family were kind. We would return.
