Backeddy Marine Pub - Egmont

Great eats, great scenery, but the best peeps you can find! Rock on with music, or just chill outdoors to the best mother nature has. You gotta go there!

Excellent service food and vibe.Went for lunch and apps here they have a sommelier in Pub with hand crafted menus that are fresh and different.

Stopped for lunch recently and decided to order share plates. Seafood chowder and crispy calamary were excellent, pork ribs not so much.Due to smoky sky we did not linger but on a nice day the view is amazing. We visit several times a year and have never been disappointed.

Limited menu which we've found is common on Vancouver Island in the majority of places we've eaten and families had a separate dinning area but the waitress was excellent and the food very tasty. I'd recommend stopping off here for a meal when in Egmont.

The title says it all. For well over 20 years, we frequented the Backeddy, having once worked in the area. We decided to go up, and see what the place was like, after about a 10 year absence, and frankly wished we had just stayed home. The entire coast this summer, more so than the usual, is bursting at the seams. Restaurants and pubs, all business for that matter, can't find employees, and employees can't find affordable housing, or any housing for that matter. Hence, our meal at the Backeddy had very few positives going for it, and it isn't their fault. I am sure they wish they could do better. Traffic was mindboggling, with vehicles parked wherever they could stop. No conduct here, folks. We will go back to the Backeddy, after the visitors all go home, which we hope is sometime in September/October.
