The Avenue - EGG HARBOR CITY

Walked into the joint. Had a delicious BBQ wood smell. Landed at the bar. Glasses were ice frozen which is always important. Big beer menu. Everything from ales to wheat beer. Even ciders. Bartender was very keen on the beer menu. Smart girl. Settled on a very tasty Blue Mountain Evil 8 Belgian ale. Food menu is very interesting. Eye-balled the Pub Tray, an appetizer consisting of meats and cheeses. Local channels on the bar tv, which is always important if you're a sports fan. Place is not noisy. Quite soft music playing. Ordered the chips the pub tray. Lots of food. Chips were outstanding. A whole potato sliced thin with a light salt seasoning and a tangy sauce on the side. The Pub Tray:,,,where do I start?!?! The tray was a stone slab. Fantastic presentation. 6 pieces of garlic bread. 4 different cheeses, pickles, carrots, a spicy jalapeño and three little mason jars with granola, olives and walnuts. And,,,,,BEEF JERKY!!! Never had beef jerky at any joint,,,EVER!!! Delicious. Got the J Luder for dinner. It's a crab cake sandwich with a side of the same spuds I mentioned before. Decent. Crab cake was outstanding. There was a celery slab in the sandwich that I discarded bc I couldn't bite thru it. Overall, a stone lock joint. Will happily land at this joint again.
