Dovesnest - Effingham

Spent time attending the Atchison county fair and working with clients. Took my son to the Dovesnest and we sat for lunch. Unique local food. My son really enjoyed both the fries and the grilled cheese sandwich, and this has a really great BLT to go for lunch, along with a nice snap to the onion rings. I always look for something that is unique in a restaurant you just don 't find elsewhere, and when I saw deep fried bacon I thought: what is that? After an order arrived to our table, we put in a try for something local and unique. Now, deep fried bacon may not be for everyone, but if you love bacon, you should give it a try and see if it isn 't something that just clicks for you! The restaurant and bathrooms are clean and friendly and the staff is welcoming.

This was the first time eating here. Had heard lots of good things about it but had never been. Glad we went food was excellent and service was great! Definitely going back.

Food was really great! Way more than I could ever eat, at a reasonable price and taste great.

Always awesome. Jon serves up the best tenderloins. Nice variety of sandwiches and sides, generous portions. Comfortable bar/restauraunt, with unique Thursday night specials. Mosr everything is made when you order, sometimes a bit of a wait, but worth it. If you leave hungry it's probably your fault. Not many places these days where you can visit with the owner if you want.

I am rather partial as the owner and l go waaaay back. Great pulled pork, as always.
