Maybe we should have studied the menu more online but without the help of an extremely efficient & patient waitress, we might just have thrown our hands up in despair. Frankly, there were too many combinations & prices. After what seemed like an eternity, we finally decided on a classic Swiss fondue, complemented by some cured meats, which I have to admit was very good. The salad was then less impressive. I have to admit, it was the main "meat" fondue that threw us and we ended up going with our waitress's recommendations for meat & method of cooking. For the price however, we didn't feel that what arrived was particularly generous! The same applied to the dessert fondues, I'm afraid. With drinks, this ended up being an overly expensive meal and not a place I would go out of my way to return to.
Family gathering. Plenty of food in each course - four, which included cheese (2 flavours), Caesar salad, mixed meat, seafood and ravoli, and chocolate (2 flavours). All hot pots were kept nice and warm and temperature was adjusted as required. Excellent wait staff, water freshened frequently, dishes removed promptly. We were in one of the banquet rooms but never felt ignored. Wonderful experience. Can't wait to go again.
Awesome food!!!! Service was great, but the cost was out of this world... But, you definitely get what you pay for!!!
Had the opportunity to try the Melting Pot without any prior knowledge or experience with fondue. Susan, our entertainer and personal menu assistant, was a delight to spend our three hour experience with. Typical dining experience can be 60-90 mins but if you want the full experience plan to be there for 4 courses and at least 2 hours. Summer selection of local craft and house special cocktails added to the excellent food presentation and tastes. All the wait staff were impeccable and attentive. With four courses there is considerable set up and bussing of dishes and the bussing staff were excellent.Overall ambience of the restaurant was delightful. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.Would recommend going with at least four people and ordering a variety. Also recommend a reservation. Bravo Melting Pot Edmonton. Was a refreshing experience to have a manager checking customer satisfaction prior to the bill being presented. Five star service for reasonable price.
We went to this restaurant to celebrate a family birthday. The table before us hadn't left yet so our reservation was a half hour late. We sat in the lounge and had a drink while we waited. The staff was most apologetic and the waiter told us the drinks we had in the lounge were free which I thought was a nice touch. The food was of good quality and plentiful. Because the service is spread out over a long period of time (we were there 2.5 hours) you realize you've had enough to eat - your appestat tells you when to stop. The chocolate fondue was the crowning touch. What needs to be improved is the table setups for larger groups. The booths are claustrophobic for 7 people. You can't cross your legs under the table because the heating unit is there and, although it's great to be close to the pots, it's also unsafe as people cross over the middle person to get at the food. The best thing to do would be to get rid of the booths altogether and get round tables. The amount of labour required for the meal is extensive. Let's just say that the wait staff really work hard to bring out all the individual courses, sauces etc. It was an interesting experience.
