Drinking was good, but they only filled it halfway away. paid for a medium, but got a little.
I'd give this a 3.5 if I could. I go here often because it's close to campus and I already have a Second Cup rewards card. I think the atmosphere is pretty good as far as Second Cup's go. Lots of seating, a few outlets, usually a mix of people conversing and studying, they play music but not too loud. My servers have always been pleasant and helpful, but some of them seem to just not be that familiar with their job, and some afternoons they only have one person working so it takes forever to get your drink. I find Second Cup's coffee itself alright, certainly a step above Timmie's. At least their flat whites aren't the exact same thing as their lattes. The sandwiches and the baked goods are pretty decent but sandwiches are expensive. On the other hand I'm pretty sure they leave the same cake in the display case for like a week, don't recommend.
I wouldn't get too excited about the oat milk at Second Cup. I ordered a mobile pickup of an Oatmilk Iced Latte with an extra shot of caramel, and when I picked it up, it had only about two ice cubes. The top half was hot while the milk was cold, so when I stirred it, it just turned into a lukewarm mixture. I couldn't even tell if it was espresso or just regular coffee poured on top. For $6, it was really disappointing. I think I'll stick with Starbucks across the street from now on.
This is a charming spot to grab a cup of coffee and relax. It's a popular place for studying, with a cozy, clean, and well-maintained atmosphere. The staff are incredibly friendly, and the Wi-Fi is fast, with plenty of outlets available for charging devices. The menu offers a good selection, and I highly recommend the cold brews for the summer. My only suggestion would be to add a few more couches for additional comfort.
