Lava Rock Grill & Sushi - Edmonton

If you've ever wanted to make your own tataki, this is one of the best places to do it. Grab the all you can eat and go to town with the sashimi, sear each side with soy sauce. Absolutely delicious, salmon and white tuna are the best for this.

Customer service was horrible! The tall man was very rude, he gave us an impatient look, and I just saw it. There was no smile throughout, very perfunctory service. The food is not fresh either. But the most I care is I think I saw a rat when I went to the washroom!!! Because that black thing flashed by the wall, so fast!! And I didn't know what it could be but a rat! ?

For years, Lava Rock has been my go-to sushi place with my fiancée, but I’ve never had the chance to leave a review with pictures because I would go straight to eating the food lol.I’m surprised that they don’t have a full house every time we go there. The customer service is exceptional. They refill the drinks without being asked.Getting seated in this restaurant is also a breeze, unlike some sushi places where getting a table is difficult and reservation times are not properly followed.Parking is also easy as there are lots of spacesThey have definitely upped their game with more options in the menu.The octopus and scallop sashimis are very tasty. I think there’s a bit too much rice on the chop chop, but still tasty.

2 hours all-you-can-eat for $40? Yes please.The servers are attentive, the kitchen is prompt, and the fish is fresh.With a good variety of appetizers, maki, sashimi, and grilled items too, it's easy to get your money's worth. Just be careful you don't get so excited that you order more than you can eat

It used to be a 5/5 for me before but the food/quality has changed. The griller improved but the food esp the meat for grilling was disappointing. There used to be short ribs and beef tongue but now they've changed it. The beef yesterday was tough and chewy. We were actually looking forward to the grilled foods. Still loved their sushi and sashimi tho. At this point, I wouldn't go back, fir now (not worth the price) I hope they bring back the quality!
