Japonais Bistro - Edmonton

Ordered: Miso soup, Assorted Sashimi, Pressed salmon sushi w/jalapeño, Brussels sprout fry, Sake. Fresh, quality seafood. Pressed salmon sushi and Brussels sprouts were outstanding. Our server was top notch: friendly and knowledgeable.

As frequent travelers to Japan we have until now found the poor quality Japanese food available here disappointing. This one is good. The wagyu beef is delicious, the sashimi appetizing, the basic bento excellent and the calamari perfectly cooked. Service was pleasant and helpful, atmosphere...is comfortable classic. Overall a satisfying evening. It is PRICEY.

This is a must visit to experience authentic Japanese cuisine at its best. In fact, so good that we returned two days later, no matter what You try you will be both pleased and amazed. Exceptional service, quality, presentation and overall experience, continually busy at...all hours which is rare for most establishments.

I really love to let them build their own bento instead of dictating what they have and invite for a substitution. the fish is very fresh and the portions were generous. a new favorite for covid lunch. the only part is that. very small parking space front.

That was our first visit in this restaurant. it was for lunch. we ordered a Bento box and an order of sorted sashimi. the fish was excellent, very fresh. the tempura in the Bento box was a bit fat. the Bento box came with miso...soup and the server only brought one. I saw that they could have brought one for each of us. as well as always overall it was a good experience.
