Fife N' Dekel - Edmonton

We had guests over for dinner, but I didn't have time to make dessert. I wanted something special, so my wife suggested checking out Save On Foods for cakes. On my way there, I passed by Fife N Dekel and remembered their delicious cakes. I ended up buying a strawberry rhubarb pie for $17.50. The dessert went from good to amazing. Despite initially feeling hesitant about spending $17.50 plus taxes and tips on a cake, my wife declared it the best strawberry rhubarb pie she had ever eaten. Now I can't wait for my strawberries and rhubarb to grow so I can attempt to recreate the same fantastic dessert at home.

Excellent quality of ingredients. I appreciate the service and the ambience. When I arrived for a quick bite, especially in the city for the day of work, the girls were thrilled to help me even if they were in the middle of the bend and closure for the afternoon. I didn't feel rushed to eat quickly and found the enthusiasm of the young lady to be a breath of fresh air. I have to try another dessert next time!

Fife n Dekel offers a wide selection of sandwiches with plenty of fresh fillings to choose from. The ordering process is efficient, so don't be deterred by any lines. It's definitely worth the wait. The only downside was that their gluten-free bread was not homemade, but it's possible they simply ran out. If you're gluten-free and prefer homemade bread, be sure to ask for it.

The lunch was fantastic and the cake was excellent. I only disliked the atmosphere of the cafeteria, it was not very appealing. I probably wouldn't go back unless I was in a rush and needed a quick lunch during a workday.

Super busy at lunch time; always a good sign. I'm not sure how the staff kept up! Bread was fresh-baked in-house. Sandwich was filling and customized. I had chili instead of soup. Pecan pie topped it all off. Overall, very tasty (though could use a...little salt). The price was incredibly reasonable as well.
