We been to this place many times. the food is tasty and cheap. They cook wonderful con gee and noodle soups. The price is very reasonable and cash only.The menu is Hong Kong style Cantonese

Great food, very reasonable prices, and terrific people watching. Double Greeting serves up serves up steaming platters and bowls of Chinese noodle dishes of all sorts, along with a good assortment of side dishes.How it works here: take seat at a table, and the server arrives soon after with a pot of Chinese tea, an order form, a pen, and menus. Write down your order, and the server collects it to take it back to the kitchen. The food will arrive at the table in no particular order. Maybe the soup first, or maybe last. Arrive it will, it is well to remember that Double Greeting is very Chinese. Share the dishes, and savour each one as it arrives at your table, and enjoy one another's company. Double Greeting is located n a somewhat seedy nieghbourhood, but I have never seen or had any troubles in the 30 plus years I have eaten there. And I normally walk to the restaurant. There is a reasnable amount of parking. Inside you will find seniors (like me,) respectable families, office workers, business people, and couples, all enjoying good food and good company.Some of the nearby roads are blocked due to construction. Do not let that deter you. It is worth a little patient driving and walking.Note: cash only. DG does not take payment cards of any kind. For those caught out, there is an ATM. Also, they do not serve alcohol. I usually drink the tea, which the server will refill if needed.

We were staying at the Hyatt Place in downtown Edmonton and the front desk suggested that the Double Greeting would be a good place for lunch if we enjoyed Chinese food. Was it ever! We shared two dishes and could barely eat half the food. And the main course was preceded by a huge bowl of consomme with chunks of beef. The food was very tasty and the portions much larger than might have been expected. We noticed that most people were taking bags with leftovers.

Great dependable restaurant with reasonable pricing. Best service and best staff. I have been coming here since the early 80's.

This place has the best Satay Beef Chow Fan/ Mein. It has the best value for great tasting food and portions. This is a place that has good wholesome food without the fancy decor. You won't get peach shrimp or fried garlic chicken just the simple Chinese dishes.
