Cibo - Edmonton

First time visit. Immediate impression - this is going to be good. Why? Nice ambience and a small menu. The menu is small but perfectly formed. High quality, interesting choices and decent prices. Definitely one to come back to.

This restaurant has 5 star pricing at $40 an entree. Went for lunch and they had no table menus-you had to wait for them to get a large blackboard and set it up in front of you either propped I. The window or propped on a chair beside you. We both ordered a soda and it came waters down. ordered a roasted beet salad that was underwhelming to say the least. Plain roasted beet with soggyistachios that tasted old and a little sprinkle of cheese that really did little to enhance a roast beet and mint that appeared not fresh. The ordered a sandwich with salad. The sandwich was on a soggy bun(the lemon squeezed on salad ran onto the bun). The meatballs in the sandwich were okay, and the pancetta lent nothing to the dish. The salad was greens with lemon juice. My husband had a beef cabbage soup that tasted watered down at best and pasta that was not only dry, but cold and rubbery texture with no noticeable sauce??? We were asked how our meal was and advised the waiter of what we thought. Nobody came to the table to inquire further, but they didn't charge us for the soup and pasta. we had come in for the first time and had a $100 gift certificate of which we were charged $70((did not include the bad soup or dry pastat) for lunch and told them to keep the leftover $30 on our gift are as we would not be back. this place charges the same prices as Hardware Grill but has bad food, bad service and really not any evidence of caring whether their product and service is good or not. We are most surprised at the high ratings on this site?????

Excellent food, service, and ambiance!__Last night was my first visit to Cibo and it was fantastic.

It's been a loooooong time since my last visit to Cibo BistroNot sure why it's been so long.

I came with my friend to try this Italian restaurant in Oliver as I've heard it is one of the top in Edmonton.
