Starting with the food, I usually order a small cheeseburger loaded with toppings from their preset list, and I like to add jalapeños, which is one of the free extra options. I always turn it into a meal with fries and a soda. The burger is consistently well-prepared, and the fries are always cooked to perfection. I appreciate the addition of lemon slices that I can use to enhance my soda. My friends generally feel the same way about their meals. The standout aspect of this place is definitely the service. The staff members frequently check in with customers throughout the visit, which is a rarity during the busy downtown lunch rush. They are genuinely friendly and helpful, creating a more enjoyable experience than what's typical for a quick meal. That said, those booths are a real downside. Given that the establishment is named Fatburger, I wish they offered a bit more room to breathe!
The staff checked on me periodically and cleared my table as I finished, which I appreciated, especially since the restaurant wasn't very busy. I enjoyed reading my book while eating my burger and fries. Since I was feeling indecisive that day, I went with the Friday special, but I found the burger to be disappointing. It just didn't sit well with me and left me feeling uncomfortably full. On a brighter note, the fries were fantastic! They were served with plenty of ketchup, which was a nice surprise since I typically don’t use ketchup on my fries. Good customer service made my visit enjoyable, even if the food itself didn’t quite meet my expectations.
The turkey burger came with cranberry sauce, tomato, lettuce, and mayo. It was tasty, but nothing extraordinary, and they typically use more mayo than I prefer. I should have requested less mayo. One of the staff members checked in on us during our meal, which was a nice touch, and she promptly cleared away our empty trays once we finished. While the burger was decent for nearly $9, I believe there are better options for a lunch date elsewhere.
Bought a groupon coupon for two cheeseburgers and skinny fries for $14 and decided to go to this downtown location. It was around 1:15 on a Sunday afternoon and was not busy, about 4 tables taken. The manager took my order and was very quick. The menu is quite large ranging from beef burgers, chicken, turkey, veggie and fish burgers, poutine, milkshakes, dessert and even alcohol. You can choose from various toppings for your burger such as the regular stuff like relish, mustard, lettuce, tomato but there is also grilled onions, bbq sauce, deli pickle, banana peppers and ranch dressing. For an extra $1.19 you can choose different cheese, a fried egg, onion ring, guacamole and a few other choices. The burgers are made fresh so there is about a 6 to 8 minute wait. While waiting, you can see the staff hard at work getting the orders out. The cheeseburgers were huge and the patty was thick and juicy. It was really tasty especially with my topping choices (love the bbq sauce and banana peppers). Be prepared, it will be messy! The fries were crispy and cooked just right. The burgers here taste and look better than fast food at McDonald's or Dairy Queen. I hear the milkshakes are really good so for sure, we will be back to try one and most likely another burger!
