I tried the Thiebou Diene, a dish of herb-stuffed white grouper, broken rice, and vegetables stewed in a flavorful red sauce. There was a potent heat and strong savory fish flavor that permeates the entire dish and separates it from run of the mill jollof rice. I loved their Attieke piment sauce which has a fruity habanero/scotch bonnet flavor and powerful heat. To cool the heat, I had some sweet Bissap (hibiscus) tea.
Chez Dior catered a 60 plus person wedding for our family and they were magnificent in their preparation and presentation of the food. So delicious, well priced, on time and the owner Binette, came with her staff to help set up the food and make sure everything was good. So delicious and Chez Dior helped make the wedding special.
Top 3 best African food in the DMV.Idk how this place has some bad reviews. The food is exquisite and the owner is so nice and informative.Seriously... This is like one of the best African food restaurants, that don't skimp on ingredients and you can taste that because everything tastes so authentic and fresh. Wow the yassa chicken is amazing, their jollof is some of the best you can get in town.. moist, tender and flavorful, honestly senegalese jollof is probably the best jollof I'm not even senegalese. But I’ll be adult enough to admit some things like that.Vegetables are tender and amazing too.The Nems, which is a Senegalese take to egg rolls is amazinggg along with its dipping sauce.Attieke and the fish it comes with, DELISH!!The Bissap drink is unique in flavor and delicious, we love the ginger drink too.You can enter through two ways the back has been easiest for me since there’s parking there. The presentation of the food is amazing too, ‘looks fancy’ lolHadn’t had Senegalese in ages and decided to dine in, at the time The owner took his time to carefully explain the menu to us. Im very impressed with this place. Very professional friendly.Keep it up guys.A great representation of African food and serviceTip: as often with african/ Caribbean foods a lot of things aren’t made quickly, especially if you want it to taste good, so I’d call about 30 mins before for pick up as the last time I had to wait about an extra 15 mins or so after calling 30 mins ahead, but I did have a larger order too. And the young man up front was apologetic about it seemed to genuinely care. But I’d say call atleast 20-30 mins either ways.
I highly recommend this restaurant! My wife and I were delighted with their delicious authentic dishes. We'll be back!
I was super excited to discover yet another great Senegalese restaurant ?? in the DMV area! Safe to say that Chez Dior is a hidden gem… The food was authentic and beautifully plated. The mom and pop restaurant hit the mark with all of the usual dishes that you would expect to find at a Senegalese restaurant. Everything was well seasoned, fresh and tasty. The service was a little slow, and a few of the items that were ordered were never brought to the table it wasn’t at all a busy time, so likely they just forgot to bring it to the table.Overall those I had a great time and would definitely visit again.
