China Chef Chinese Kitchen - Edison

The staff at this restaurant are incredibly rude and incompetent. I placed a delivery order to my office, and they completely messed it up. My order was supposed to be shrimp foo young, but instead, I received pork. Shrimp and pork don’t even look alike! The fried rice was undercooked, yellow, and had a strange sour taste – it seemed like it had either gone bad or wasn’t cooked properly. To top it all off, they didn’t include any fortune cookies! Seriously, how can a Chinese restaurant not provide fortune cookies? They also don’t honor their own coupons. A delivery driver left a stack of menus with vouchers, but when I tried to use one, they told me it was expired, even though none of the vouchers had an expiration date or mentioned that they couldn’t be used for lunch. This is a business, after all – who is here for dinner? I would strongly recommend avoiding this place at all costs.

I have a great affection for China Chief and for John, his wife Iris, and his parents. They recognize me by name and are incredibly friendly. Their food is excellent. However, I'm feeling concerned because when the pandemic began, John mentioned that he was having difficulty sourcing supplies. He planned to close for two weeks, but that was two months ago. I'm worried about John and his family and hope they are doing well. I really hope they can reopen soon so everyone can enjoy their delicious food again.

This is the best Chinese food I've ever had! The staff is incredibly friendly, and the dishes are absolutely delicious. My family and I have been dining here for years, and we wouldn't consider going anywhere else.
