Located in the basement of Lian Pu, the restaurant offers a variety of options including sushi, hotpot, BBQ, and Chinese dishes. To access the restaurant, you must use the stairs as the lower section exclusively serves hot pot and Korean BBQ. The dining experience is self-service, with the exception of drinks. Customers can choose their broth from a menu, opting for a split pot or a single pot. A wide selection of vegetables, seafood, meat, tofu, noodles, steamed red bean baos, steamed white rice, watermelon, tea, soy boiled eggs, and a station for creating dipping sauces are available. Each table can accommodate four people, with around 12 tables/kiosks in total. The dining time is limited to two hours. Our overall impression was that the seafood selection was somewhat lacking, possibly due to the season. The clear chicken and tom yum broth seemed to be under-seasoned, but it improved once we added crab and meat. We arrived at 5:30 pm with a reservation, and the restaurant quickly became crowded with Chinese students and families. The modern and clean restrooms were a plus. Due to the steam from the hot pot, it can get quite warm inside, so wearing light layers is recommended. This meal is perfect for warming up during the winter. The canned herbal tea my partner ordered was not cold enough, but my unlimited coke refills were fizzy and cold. Despite the busy atmosphere, it was easy to get someone's attention for refills. Overall, the price for all-you-can-eat dining for two hours was reasonable.
The food at this restaurant is absolutely delightful. It's not your typical Chinese style, which makes it even better. Although we only had time for a quick bite, we couldn't resist the delicious sweet and sour chicken and spicy pork dishes. We wouldn't hesitate to come back next time we're in Edinburgh.
It is very unusual to come across a restaurant that offers both hotpot and Korean BBQ in Edinburgh, so discovering this place was a pleasant surprise! The staff were amazing, extremely helpful and attentive. The restaurant and bathrooms were clean and well-maintained. The food was plentiful with a great variety to choose from. I had a wonderful experience dining here!
We were going to another restaurant but were shocked to find another hot pot in Edinburgh, what a surprise Great staff with a nice smiling greeting then sat and very comfortable table. We knew what were doing so we just started. Great unlimited juice Food selection very good along with boiled rice which is unusual, also the sauce selection was good all very well lit up and clean. Nice selection of stocks too. I forgot cash so had to go to nearest hole in the wall no problem two min away, while my other half was chatting to the waitresses very friendly. We will be back
First time we have been and it was really great. Excellant value for money as we had both the Hot Pot BBQ and were stuffed. Very Very Good well done
