Go to 181 for great food and excellent coffee. They stock our favourite bread and if you're eating in Charlotte's scones are irresistible.
We both ordered soup with scones, cheese, and nigella seed. The soup was okay, a bit watery, but not too heavy. It was a good option if you wanted something light. The scones were delicious, with flavors infused in them, and I would never normally have cheese on a scone as it can be heavy. However, this was a delicate flavoring that added a nice touch. There were also lots of lovely salads available, but since it was a wet day, we opted for the soup. I definitely need to come back and stock up from this lovely deli.
This was a super little find which I came across on a walking tour in Edinburgh called ‘aweetasteofEdinburgh’ which the guide Karly was amazing. Such a lovely family run business and great fresh products. Little seating area for you to sit in and have a coffee which I prefer to look after small local business rather than the big chains. Owner took the time to go over the history of the shop and how they came to owning it which was a lovely touch. Black pudding scotch eggs are unreal .... everyone must try these.
This a lovely little deli that I visited in June through Karly’s walking food and drink tour. We tried a homemade traditional scotch egg (I’d only ever had the supermarket ones before) and it was delicious! This is a definite must for anyone looking for good, fresh and local British fayre!
