Lumber Yard Cafe - Edgewood

My family and I used to dine at this restaurant frequently and always enjoyed the food and service. However, our recent experiences have been disappointing. During our last visit, my wife found a moth in her salad and despite informing the owner, no immediate action was taken until I notified another worker. The owner only offered us a $2 discount. Today, we decided to give the restaurant another chance for breakfast, as it was a favorite spot of ours. Unfortunately, my wife's omelet never arrived, and we witnessed another table waiting for 45 minutes without receiving their food. It seems like the kitchen's standards are quickly declining. We do not plan on returning anytime soon.

The service at this restaurant was absolutely awful. We even mentioned to the cashier at the front that the young girl who served us was moving too quickly and not listening to our needs. She forgot to bring us butter until we asked for a to-go box. We will make sure not to have her as our waitress next time.

This is my 2nd time to eat here not from the area) and this place does not disappoint! Wonderful friendly small town service and hearty food with generous portions. I had the chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, and fried okra. Batter on the steak and okra both were light and crunchy. Potatoes are homemade of course no instant potatoes here. The plate was served with a soft warm roll as well. All the servers were busy tending to their customers and you never had to flag anyone down to ask for anything. I will definitely be back again

My wife and I stumbled on this place by accident in Edgewood. If you love great Chicken Fried steak and great service, then you have to experience this. I haven't been to a great hands down, down home restaurant with such a welcome atmosphere in decades. I'll be eating here often.
