When we heard they had a vegan menu, we had to check it out! They have a wide range of vegetable curries and side dishes that are already vegan— just ask the staff to be sure. We decided to go with the vegan set, which came with a salad, three curries, papad, and chapati. It was a generous portion of food, and it all tasted good except for the salad, which we were dismayed to realize was mostly raw onion. The dining room is roomy and nicely decorated, and we really enjoyed our meal here. We will definitely be back! EDIT: fellow activist and actual Indian @comfortably.vegan left this comment to explain the reason behind the onion! : “Ah, the raw onion should not be eaten like a salad. When you take a bit of the food [chapati or rice], follow it up with a piece of raw onion. This clears up your tongue and the next bite of food will taste as good as new. Raw onion is a staple accompaniment to all Indian food, especially the ones which use a variety of spices [not hotness, but pepper, cardamom, bay leaf etc] Ex: Biryani.” Thanks for the info!

We opted for the vegan set which included a salad, three curries, papad, and chapati. (edit: For those who may be unfamiliar with Indian cuisine, the raw onion is actually meant to be eaten as a palate cleanser. After taking a bite of your food [chapati or rice], follow it with a piece of raw onion. This helps refresh your taste buds so the next bite tastes just as flavorful. Raw onion is a common accompaniment to Indian dishes, especially those with a lot of spices like biryani. Thanks for sharing this tip!)
