Przekaż informację zwrotnąAh the MSG was killing me by the end. It's always good for a few bites, then I start struggling. Service was extremely slow, i.e. we had to ask three times for the same thing to actually receive it. As expected, they can't understand you if you speak english, and have to go get someone else. We ordered a veg hot pot (saltiest), wonton noodle soup (which seemed alright), and low hon vegetable fried noodle. They use egg noodles for the fried noodles, but they were happy to change to rice noodles when requested. Also asked for mine without oyster sauce (veganized) and it was still tasty. A lot more tolerable in terms of saltiness than the hot pot, probably because the noodles helped to make it less intense. I probably wouldn't go back. The struggle was real and I had to drink 1L of water afterwards.
Peppered pork tripe soup with rice set lunch. Enough said. Except bout the waitress having difficulty caring enough to bring a fork for our 5 year old (despite us asking nicely twice)... still worth the sub service. Yum.
Been here quite often for lunches but first time here for dinner. We ordered a 2 person dinner set which had soup, steamed veges and rice included on top of the 2 dishes you select from what they had on the list for $35.90. We had sweet and sour pork and satay beef vermicelli pot. Portions were big enough that we ended up taking away some too. Also ordered a side of wonton soup for our little one and she loved it.
We ordered a two-person dinner set + additional rice for one. Complimentary soup was initially served before the dishes - deep fried salt & pepper flounder, king prawns with vermicelli in XO sauce, and Chinese vegetables - arrived at the table. The fare is your average Chinese food but serving portions are relatively large so we were barely able to finish everything between the three of us. Chao Kong is unique in that it provides booth seating along the sides of the restaurant, which I have to say is more comfortable than sitting on the regular chairs.
Food was almost good. Service was pretty hopeless. I sat and watched lines of customers form to pay and no one to serve. Probably go back for takeaway, not dine in.
