Captain's Ketch Seafood - Easton

I will never buy anything from Captain's Catch in Easton, Maryland again. I purchased 2 lbs of backfin lump crab meat for over $36 each. When I opened one container to use in my crab dip, it was indeed backfin, but the second container turned out to be regular crab meat—someone had switched the lids! I called the store immediately to report this, and the person I spoke to said they couldn’t understand how that could happen, as they don’t carry regular crab meat. I come here from Florida to visit family and have shopped there before, but I won’t be returning. They really need to check their crab meat! Customers should check the lids before they drive away!

This is a great place to buy fresh fish, smith island cake, soup, or prepared foods. Everyone is always very kind and the fish is fantastic. Can't say enough good things!

I've bought 1/2 peck's of oysters from other markets and they'll stay closed and fresh in a brown bag in my fridge for two weeks. Got two dozen from this place, some looked meh, ate a dozen, next day a bunch were open and tossed them. Next week didn't feel so hot. Not liking to go to doctors waited a few weeks before I knew something was really wrong. Not one, not two, but THREE different types of parasites. Talbot County Board of Health had to be notified by my doctor. There are other places in Easton that actually sell fresh seafood. Stay away from this overpriced tourist trap.

Eventually, a man who was called over by the female staff behind the counter stepped in to assist the elderly man, who was by then bleeding from his nose and had a swollen eye. He helped the man up and got him some water and ice for his injuries. Feeling awful for the gentleman, I even paid for 2 lbs of salmon for him! Meanwhile, the staff and the owner offered no assistance whatsoever. This experience was terrible! I would strongly advise against buying anything from them. Not only should they fix that unsafe step, but the owners should also be held accountable. I’ve told everyone I know—this is a small town—and I’m sharing this on social media. SHAME ON YOU! Such horrible people!
