Ultimate sharing platter.Large mixed grillSteak and ale pie with mash Kids double bacon burgerKids sausage and chipsI have to say this is one of the worst meals I have ever eaten out, and I go to family orientated pubs often. By no means am I a food snob.My personal meal (pie and mash) was inedible. When I cut inside the top layer of pastry was mushy and the bottom layer was so hard you couldn't cut through it. The meat inside was 50% fat. The mash that came with the meal was warmed to the end of its life so much that the underneath was burnt onto the plate. The only thing edible on my plate were the peas (difficult to get wrong). The ultimate sharing platter consisted of mainly deep fried products, no problem with that. My problem was that it was over cooked that much you couldn't tell what was a chicken strip, prawn or jalapeno thing as they all looked and tasted the same.....burnt and hard! The meat on my partners mixed grill was disgusting. The quality of the meat you are purchasing is quite disturbing. The chicken was clearly very cheap and nasty. The steak (although cooked to order well) was full of gristle and pretty much inedible also. My children are their meals without much complaint as kids do. I however saw how overcooked the burger was and the beans again were so over warmed they were stuck to the plate. My main concern about all this is that I have booked our Christmas dinner with my whole family here. 9 of us who are potentially going to have an extremely bad Christmas day meal. To be honest I am panicking about it now . Overall absolutely disgusted with the entire meal.
I have to say after reading some of the previous reviews of this place I almot didn't come and try for myself. But we always pass here on way to Royal Victoria Country Park and always want to try it. It is perfect for a family of 5 like we are, Cheap meals and really child friendly. We arrived a little early so the kids played on the boat climbing area before we ate. We didn't bother with wacky warehouse, but the main part where we ate was still child friendly and welcoming to the children. We took advantage of a great offer, 2 main meals, 2 kids meals and a ice crea dessert for £15. Bargain! We enjoyed out chicken tikka masallas and the ids loved their mains. But were really impressed with their ice cream sundae!Food was as expected and great. Staff were friendly. We will definately be back.!
Visited on a late Sunday afternoon.Food was simply ok. I had the mini mixed grill which whilst hot, it was bland in taste throughout. There was a limited range of lager because some were out of stock. My children enjoyed the whacky warehouse indoor play area and also the outdoor play park area.
We again visited this place for a second time and again NO BEER only lager or Newcastle brown. How can they call themselves a pub. For a Saturday lunchtime it is empty. Very disappointed and will not visit again. Plenty of staff doing nothing!!!
Not a 4 or 5 star eatery, but functional and reasonably priced. Plenty of choices and lots of buy two on the same menu group to get a better price.
