They rely heavily on their sauces the make up the flavor. The vegetables, especially the cabbage, are often old and discolored. I wish I could say I was surprised when they served me the sorry looking vegetables in this picture. To be fair to this Yoshinoya, this photo shows a worse than usual result. But it is telling that they serve food with this level of visual quality without comment. It makes me wonder how quality is being overlooked in other parts of their ingredient supply and execution.3 stars because it will get you fed, and is one of a limited number of options in this part of UCSB's campus. But I don't advise seeking it out unless you're already on the northeast corner of UCSB. Vegetarian options: No vegetarian main options. Some sides are vegetarian, but not really a decent meal.
It’s not as good as Yoshinoya in China, but it’s still delicious. Sometimes I suddenly want to eat it…
Best fast dining on campus, Multiple options for toppings on noodle or white or brown rice with steamed vegetables. Nice lady has run it since opening.
Good place to get a quick bite. Tasty rice bowls that you can customize.
The woman that runs Yoshinoya is wonderful! She always is kind and works quickly and carefully.
