As for the vegan 'fish ' this was the best we 've tasted. I think it was battered banana blossom. The only slight issue was that the person taking the order was unsure about the BBQ jackfruit and forgot our vegan tartare sauce order. Annoyingly I didn 't realise until I was back at the car. These was little things though and The Chippy is now the only place we will be going to for our 'fish ' and chips, and we will certainly be returning again and again and again! Thank you The Chippy for embracing veganism.
In contrast to the reviews here I found it a great chippy. chips are perfect. the fish is great. liked the season. probably this is a new team. keep good work
My brother ordered the cod and chips, and the person who served him was exceptionally friendly and courteous. The meal was excellent, and the fish was delicious.
I was lucky to discover this place yesterday when everything else was crowded, and I can honestly say that there was nothing cheap about this fish and chips spot (except for the great value!). The fish was incredibly fresh and flavorful, light and not oily at all, with a delightful aroma. The chips were perfectly crispy, and everything was enhanced by a lovely hint of parsley. Altogether, it was one of the best fish and chips experiences I've had!
We ordered the meal deal that included fish, chips, and a drink for £10.00, and we felt that the price was quite reasonable for what we received. The fries were freshly cooked, and the fish was a bit on the small side. We rated this review 4 stars mainly because we had to wait 35 minutes to collect our food after placing the order. If they were aware of how busy they would be, especially given the nice weather, it would have been better for them to have more staff available. Next time we notice they're understaffed, we might consider going somewhere else.
