There was no background music and the other tables seemed strangely silent. Our young waiter was pleasant, but could benefit from more training. He left before we had finished ordering, and even placed the wine on our table with the lid still on before walking away. The starters were delicious, as were most of the main dishes. The sea bass was particularly tasty, but the vegetables were overly salty. The portion sizes were on the smaller side, so ordering sides is necessary. The self-cooked salmon was a unique touch, but it was unexpected and slightly awkward in the quiet dining room. There was also a significant wait between courses, and we had to request the dessert menu. Although we had a pleasant evening and the food was decent, we likely won't be returning.
This was by far the worst service I have ever experienced! We didn't even get to have dinner in the end. They claimed their booking system was down and refused to seat us. It was hard to believe since there were empty tables and we had made a reservation.
A nice friendly restaurant with a good menu. Soon ran out of oysters!!! A little language issues but this seems to be common in Eastbourne!!
That was amazing and the room beautifully decorated, but it was so quiet when we arrived, as there was no audible music and no one seemed to speak on the other tables, probably out of this ground. the waiter was young and was nice, but needed a workout when he left before we finished our order, not to realize that we looked at the side (although we still looked at the menu). also when the wee was brought, he knocked him on the table with the lid and ran. we can of course weep ourselves, but he should be trained to be confident what he does. the appetizers were beautiful and for the most part also the main thing. the seabark was delicious, but the veg was too salty, so I had to leave the greatest part of it. they also have NED pages, as the nets were on the small side. they cook the salmon themselves, which was quirky, but not mentioned on the menu and easy embarrassing when it is annoying and steaming away when the room is so quiet. between the curses there was a pretty waiting time, and we wanted to see the desert menu at the end. we had a nice evening and that was okay, but we probably won't go back.
Absolutely the worst service ever! at the end we didn't even have dinner. supposedly the booking system was down and they refused to sit us for dinner. remember that this was really hard to believe because there were some empty tables and we had the reservation.
