Bailey's Surf N Turf - East Wareham

We were driving through town and stopped by for lunch...and are so glad we did! The first thing that hit us right away was that we had stepped into a well loved local favourite! The main dining was full so we were ushered into the bar area...everybody knew everybody...friendly bartender n servers. We had a jolly good time!! Lobster bisque, clam chowder, fried clams and fried oysters....all great! Wish we had more time to enjoy this gem!

This is a nice little family restaurant in Wareham Connecticut and they have some of the best tasting seafood chowder I've ever had. This place has been in business for a few decades, and the grandfather makes the chowder himself every day and it's such a secret he won't even tell the rest of his family members. I will go out on a limb and say this is probably the best tasting chowder that I've ever had. The ambience of the restaurant is pretty down to earth and very laid-back. The service is excellent and they even have a takeout section with barstools to get a drink or eat a bowl of chowder while you're waiting on your meal to be prepared. The chowder is so popular they'll even ship it overnight anywhere in the country in a frozen state then you just thaw it in the refrigerator and prepare it as directed.

Stuffed Quahogs are next level, but that was really the only thing we ordered that was impressive. We ordered takeout, were quoted 15 minutes and it took closer to an hour. We weren't in a huge rush so this was fine. When we got home, we realized they didn't give the blue cheese dressing with the buffalo strips, which was super disappointing, especially since they display homemade blue cheese on the menu, which was exciting to me. We also got clam chowder and stuffed quahogs. The quahogs were delicious, on the better side of the many I've had. Clam chowder was decent, but needed more salt. I would hope that an experience in-restaurant would be better.

Nice little gem in Wareham casual place with a nice bar restaurant part has plenty of tables for relaxing and dining I sat at the bar and the service was excellent had a cup of clam chowder which was very good the fish and chips were just as good cold slaw was delicious as well also got the seafood casserole which was packed with lobster scallops shrimp and fish it was baked just right and was delicious the beer was ice cold overall the food and hospitality was excellent

Food was good waitress was on point . I got the baked seafood casserole and my wife had the teriyaki chicken salad, it was laid out with a nice presentation. Both plates were appetizing and filling. If I had to give some area of improvement I would the long could use an update. It was kind of dark and dreary. Would be nice if it matched the rest of the place. Other than that it was a pretty good experience.
