The Brewers Arms

Beautiful home made cooked food. Both the lasagne and the lamb burger were gorgeous. So nice to see a place catering for the gf diet. The gf sticky toffee pud was to die for! Our first visit but will not be the last. Very well kept beers in a comfortable setting

Stayed at the restaurant on the 29th of September for 2 nights with 2 other couples. I was quite disappointed with the size of the room (Salt End room), especially compared to our friends' much larger rooms. The ensuite was also very small, making it hard to move around. We didn't even unpack our bags since there was only a small rail behind the door. This room would be better suited for a solo traveler. However, the bed was comfortable and there was always plenty of hot water. Breakfast was delicious and abundant. As a celiac, my food was adjusted to accommodate my dietary needs. The chef was very helpful when I spoke to her about it on the first evening. Also, the gluten-free sticky toffee pudding was fantastic. The owner of the restaurant works long hours and, although not very talkative, he was very attentive.

It's no surprise that you have to pay before you eat at this restaurant because you definitely wouldn't want to after! I had a terrible lunch consisting of a microwave tuna cheese wrap with processed cheese, chili fries with more processed cheese, and frozen chips with extremely dried out chili. The meal cost £5, so I guess I can't complain about being robbed. Sadly, my friend ordered the £14 chili and it was a complete joke. I don't understand how they thought it was acceptable to serve such terrible food. Overall, it was a horrific dining experience and I will not be returning. I will also be sure to warn others about how awful the food was.

The restaurant is excellent. The steak and wine special is fantastic, and the food is perfectly cooked to your preference. The wine selection is great, with nothing to criticize. The service is attentive and the owner is always courteous and welcoming. I enjoy dining here. The only downside is the limited outdoor seating, but I will definitely return as it is a great spot.

Live locally and have always found the Brewers Arms to be pleasant and the food decent. The current landlord is extremely rude and the service from him is lacking basic manners. It's a shame but I will not be returning until the next landlord takes over.
