First, the Providence area has a deserved reputation for excellent food INCLUDING an enormous amount of creative, delicious vegan food. But if you are from downtown and on the east side the options are more limited. KhaoSan is conveniently located in East Providence directly at Warren Ave. Additional parking with beautiful interior. We were taken out and, as another reviewer said, they do not identify the vegan options online. But they have 10 direct vegan offers and a whole bundle that are vegan option (usually choose tofu as a protein . We had Fried Tofu (excellent! Spring Rolls, Pad Thai J, and Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Noodles). Other fully vegan options are: Scallion Pancakes, Fried Chive Dumplings, Vegetable Tempura for Apps. Other popular vegan option apps are the Fresh Rolls and Fried Vegetable Dumplings. ALL fried rice dishes are also vegan option. Before you ask them on the phone ALL Curry dishes are made with fish sauce, so there is no way to make them vegan. In all, KhaoSan is a solid choice, especially if you are outside Providence on the east side of the city.
Always great food. Lovely service. I’m so glad this restaurant is in our neighborhood.
I loved the service here. A very friendly woman. We had crab Rangoon, chicken Tom yum soup and red curry. All great. I think the Tom Yum soup has seafood in it even if you get chicken. It tasted like it did but i forgot to ask and I did not die so it was good lol.Two restrooms. There’s a parking lot here because it’s in like a small strip mall. A lot of people seem to do take-out here but there are plenty of seats for dine in because of it. We stopped by while going to the laundromat because it’s conveniently right across the street. Unfortunately, no alcohol is served here. Not sure if they allow BYOB or anything.Excited to have lunch here again the next time I do laundry across the street.
This review for Khaosan is long overdue but it's never too late to rave about it! I came across this restaurant while searching for a place for dinner in Rhode Island and was thrilled to see that Khaosan served so many Thai street food dishes. I've never seen some of these dishes served in the US before. In fact, I didn't think the meal could possibly live up to the expectation that I'd created for myself, but it somehow exceeded them!My husband and I shared a delicious spread Gui Chai (Chive dumpling), Moo Ping (grilled pork skewers), Som Tum (papaya salad), and sticky rice.If we hadn't been so full from a previous meal, we would've ordered 10 more things! The chive dumplings were incredible and the sauce was perfect. It was JUST like I would have back home. The grilled pork skewers had my husband raving as well. The sticky rice was also perfect. They did seem to be more of a takeout restaurant, but when we dined in, service was super friendly and attentive. If you're looking for good Thai food in Rhode Island, please don't hesitate to check out Khaosan! Order the traditional Thai dishes and you won't regret it.
High-quality ingredients and Thai favorites such as pad thai and green curry make this an easy choice for fans of Thai food. The lunch specials make it a good choice for an adventurous lunch on a budget. Ample vegan options here that stick to your ribs.Vegetarian options: Vegan options are plentiful, as most dishes can be ordered with just vegetables. Mine came with cabbage, carrot, and peppers.Parking: Strip mall parking. Somewhat crowded for a mid-week lunch. But found a spot with little trouble.
