We visited this pub last night for a birthday celebration. The atmosphere and service were both excellent. It's a friendly and welcoming local pub. The owner is fantastic. We had a wonderful evening and the live band, The Tuesdays, was outstanding. Thank you for a fantastic night.

This is not a place you'd want to visit for a date night! After having one drink, we decided to leave. The atmosphere was unwelcoming and overall quite unpleasant.

Originally planned to go to the White Hart across the road, but it's closed. Never planned to go here as the scores of mothers with prams outside always put me off. Had fish and chips and they were awful. I think the fish was pre-battered in a factory somewhere. Will go elsewhere in future

Found the George after plan 'A ' fell through due to hours of business. Friendly atmosphere with good burgers. Veggie burger was potato based which is different to bean and legume based burgers previously experienced. Passed the test and would recommend. Cheeseburger was quite good with fried onions. Burger buns were very fresh. Washed down with a pint of Bateman ' XB from a fresh cask. Very enjoyable and would recommend.
