The wait staff were friendly and attentive, despite being quite busy. The outdoor garden was charming and even had a fun table tennis table, adding to the overall enjoyment of the dining experience.
I don't often leave reviews, but I have to say my experience at this restaurant was disappointing. When I asked for a jug of water, I was served a small, expensive bottle instead. The mackerel nicoise I ordered was tiny and not satisfying, with a small piece of dried-out mackerel and minimal toppings. My friend's pie was average, but the side of cabbage looked unappetizing. Dessert was decent, but overpriced for what we got. Overall, the meal was not worth the high price. It's a shame, as this restaurant used to be much better.
Lovely feeling Pub, great gardens, nice staff, all let down by so so food. Green Thai chicken, burgers, and a steak plus other dishes between 7 of us all of us said just poor to average small portions and all agreed never again, The steak at £27 was not worth half that chewy and fatty with gristle right through it Shame. as the location and everything else is fabulous, even the Guinness was 'Off ' and returned Could be so much more, and being near empty in the restuarant on a friday night should have run alarm bells.
Being one of 3 local pubs, decided to give it a wide berth last year as the levels of service and quality of food had gone from very good to merely average. But on a whim, decided to give it another go last night... I should have just driven to the next park when we saw no one sitting in their beer garden. And I mean no one. On a Saturday night! So let 's get some drinks and enjoy the beer garden to ourselves. My wife asked for a Wine List and was told there wasn 't one! This a Fullers Pub isn 't it?! Anyway, drinks duly ordered, we went out into the Beer Garden. It 's just a little...unloved. A lovely space, great light but the tables and benches could simply do with a spruce up and perhaps mow the grass. And having multiple table numbers on the tables some written in Marker pen! really didn 't give the right impression. Food duly ordered. I went for their Burger which to be fair has been good in the past. But not this time. Toasted Brioche which was certainly not fresh, a limp and lifeless but of Salad, and some rather anaemic looking chips. My Wife 's special, the 'crab burger ' was literally a lightly battered soft shell crab in another slightly old Brioche Bun with some form of pea puree that totally overpowered the flavour of the crab. Which was a good job really, because it didn 't have any. But what really galled me apart from the £15 price for a 'burger ' was the total lack of presentation: A plate, a burger and some chips. Now I 'm not saying I like food served on a plank with chips in a mini basket or something, but this was really a zero effort plate when it came to presentation...and flavour. This place needs a drastic overhaul. Until it does, we won 't be coming back.
Sixteen members of the REME association Bordon branch, went for an impromptu bowls evening. The evening was a great success due to the company the venue, the staff and the food. We had a great fun event and the food was excellent delivered by a very amiable and pleasant team. The pub is to be congratulated on its atmosphere and the whole package was a delight. Well done to the manager and her team.
