Hungry Horse - East Hampshire

I ordered the vegan mushroom and ale pie for one of my guests at this restaurant. We had to wait a long time for our main dishes, and when they finally came out, the pie was still frozen in the middle. I informed the staff and waited a while for a new pie to be brought out. However, when it arrived, it was still cold in the middle. I decided not to complain since the other 7 members of our party had already finished their meals. We were promised a refund, but it was not given.

The food and drinks at this restaurant were fantastic, and the service was excellent. The servers were attentive and friendly, with Freya in particular standing out for her exceptional helpfulness and kindness towards me.

This restaurant experience was very disappointing. We had booked a table for 12:15 specifically to enjoy a Sunday roast, but upon arrival slightly early, we were informed we could not order the roast until 1:00pm. We opted for alternative meals instead. Despite waiting nearly an hour for our food, others who arrived after us were served before us. When I inquired at the bar about the delay, I was told our food had been ready and we should not have waited so long. To make matters worse, those who arrived later than us were receiving their Sunday roasts while our alternative meals were lackluster. One chicken goujon was burnt, the macaroni cheese lacked cheese flavor, and my granddaughter's starter was forgotten despite asking for it twice. Although we eventually received her starter and dessert, it was too late as she had lost interest by then. This disappointing experience has deterred us from returning to the previously excellent Hungry Horse.

What a wonderful pub! The food was delicious and a great price too.. The new Manager and the Assistant Manager were really welcoming and friendly.. They wenr out if their way to make sure we had everything we needed. I would definitely recommend..

Definitely recommend the pub had a lovely atmosphere staff where professional and friendly people! Came with family and would definitely come again
