You would not refund or fix the problem. The room was dirty (used towels, dirty soap bars). TV had scratches, bad reception and was tiny. No breakfast as advertised. Half of the room was dark with burned light that they would not repair. Children's playground right in front of the window. Exercise by. Paper sign over old radiators say not touch hot. Fridge was dirty. Dead flies in the windows. Just a rough place!! Parking is crazy. You can easily be blocked by other cars in the parking lot. Terrible experience. When we asked for help, they would lie to us that they could not reach their manager and then with the manager with someone else a few minutes later (our room was next to the office). Not God. Bad cell service also here. Very sketchy place.
There are two signs in town both of which say tripleA approved. I checked triple A online and dancing bears nor any other place in East Glacier village has triple A rating status. The facility is very dated and far from meeting triple A standards at the present time. The location is prime. Unfortunately that is the most positive comment about the place. The following is a list of issues we had: 1. Not all electric outlets worked 2. No blow dryer was available 3. Housekeeping was haphazard since garbage was it was not picked up daily 4. The remote was not matched to television so certain functions were not able to be done. 5.The refrigerator and microwave were stacked on a table where there was a closet rod that could not be used. 6.There was coffee pot but no coffee and tea were available. 7. There was allegedly a free breakfast in the office but we never saw it because the office was closed until 10 am. By that time most people would have been gone. 8. There was no bath mat provided so we had to use a towel to step out of the tub. 9. The staff provided a blow dryer which did not work and no other was provided. 10. The mattress was old without much support. 11. There was no telephone. 12. The decor was dated and hodgepodged. 13. The staff did not give us an explanation when we asked what the scream was we heard at 6:30 am one morning. 14. The air conditioner was in the bathroom and there was no clue what was on the other side. We left one day earlier than planned since we were able to find a better place for our last night in Glacier. Basically the place needs significant remodeling to upgrade the electricity and better utilize the space.
Booked this hotel since i was staying at east glacier travelling solo. The location is in a town that looks run down. They charge way too much for what is essentially a run down hotel with dilapidated rooms. I have no idea how they got so many good reviews. I only needed to stay for 4 hours since i got in late and had to leave super early the next day otherwise i would have immediately gone somewhere else. Not a safe spot especially for solo female travelers.
Stay away from the Dancing Bears Inn at all costs, no matter how cheap it is. Just spreading awareness to save anyone else from having an experience like this. My friend booked this motel in East Glacier, Montana for us to stay for 2 nights. The area itself is not great but is convenient to the park. I also feel it 's important to mention how poor cell service is in this area. We arrived around 9pm after day hiking. Right off the bat it 's super sketch, friend goes inside to check in, is told that the room is under maintenance and there 's no place to put you, so we 're going to upgrade you to a house. No phone calls or emails earlier about this, we are in agreement that the house thing is not a good idea. My friend 's boyfriend wanted to check out the house after raising the concern about how we had no place to stay and everywhere in the area was booked up, and due to lack of internet and cell service it would be hard to find another place to stay. We get in our car to follow someone to this second location. We follow this car off the property, off the main road onto a dirt one in the woods. We as a group decide to turn around. A white pickup truck immediately pops up behind us and boxes us in. We try to drive around the pickup truck to escape, and the driver backs up to stay in our way. He ended up ramming his truck into our rental to get us to stop moving. We peel out, call the cops (took us multiple tries to get a call to go through, we got lucky) and the cops immediately know the road we were on and the people involved, and confirm how bad the situation was. The cop actually called backup to go down the road and when they get there they almost got into a shootout with the guy. One of the people involved has at least one public court record of strangulation and aggravated assault resulting in significant bodily harm on the same road they took us on. We ended up having people back home with better internet and service book another place, the closest one which was 1.5 hours away in Kalispell. I looked into some reviews for this motel after the fact (should have done this way beforehand when I found out where we were staying) and saw that a similar situation had happened to someone else. We have yet to hear from or get a refund from this place.
This motel is a gateway to the Glacier National Park. Motel? Maybe it's a hotel. You have a strange building in a building cleaning. It's kind of like the movie Inception, except the strangeness of this h otel, no one could dream Leonardo DiCaprio. It is a dream packed in another dream and served on a bed of salad. It's... strange. Could be a hotel. Could be a motel. Whatever. It is also super expensive for what you get. Great. Warm. But! For the price you pay, you can get the shampoo that the guest has left before you. When it rains, there's a solid chance the roof holds the wet. If it is cold, you can even get a room heating! Do not count on cellular or Wi-Fi. But seriously. They are to hike at Glacier or Kayak and do outdoorsy adventures. So a h m otel that is a little rough around the edges should fit properly. And Dancing Bears is lousy with rough edges. Good times! Pros: Amazing friendly staff, super great to prevent complaints. Ten out of ten for the guy! It is near the Glacier National Park. The strange extra corridor built on the front of the building is an architectural wonder. A miracle. It's rainy. Surprise showers from previous guests. Cons: Yes. How to stay in a much better hotel literally elsewhere for the same amount of money and get room service, a spa, a hotel bar and even a continental breakfast with waffles. Mmmm. No real dance bears. It's nice to sketch, it's clear I might be killed here. With friendly sketch, read: really sketched. But a paradise compared to the abandoned murder motel on the street. This place cries that someone was murdered here. It was creepy. Grizzly? Grizzly? Bear? Understand? Ooooof. Really. Broken windows and everything. This place is scary. Again, expensive. Whatever. It's a roof over the head. Don't expect much more than that.
