Really nice pub in geelong. simple and tasty eating. personal and service were excellent. great prices for pub menus.

Here for dinner, just because it was close and was surprised how good it was eating. had the risotto and must say it was the best risotto that I had in very long time. service was friendly and fast and no one at the table was disappointed about what they ordered.

After picking where to go for lunch at 11:45pm the night before, I certainly wasn't disappointed. While the decor in here is outdated, don't let that ruin it for you. The staff are friendly, fast and accommodating. The place was packed, which is always a good sign. The lunch menu prices are AMAZING and such a great bargain. Can't go past them for value. The food was also an honest to goodness pub meal and filled us right up. If you're ever in Geelong, consider the Sir Charles Darling. It's a cheap and cheerful place to go!

Nothing much to look at from the outside, or inside really, Sir Charles Darling would have been somewhere we walked right past, except that I'd read good reviews. We went there on a Tuesday night, and the place was pretty packed. Firstly, the service was great; friendly and helpful. This is always really important to me as a part of an overall dining experience. We didn't have a reservation, but they fitted us in at a table that was reserved for later in the night. Dinner was standard pub food, but reasonably priced, especially when you take into account the daily specials (we were there in steak night 15.50 for a 300g porterhouse). Great place for a meal and a beer, my wife and I have been here a couple of times and never disappointed with the meals. The staff are nice and they've got a great little beer garden you can relax in
