The chips are green and brown and hard. The chips have no taste most probably because they are not cooked from fresh. Not enough salt or vinegar. Scary bad! We threw the entire order in the bin and if you don't believe me just look at these images.
Although now opened for 2 years, this was our first visit and we went clutching a voucher for £25 for a 'family feast ' a prize in a local competition. All the food is cooked to order and the choice is excellent: large cod (in breadcrumbs) chips, plus various other items were all of very good standard and definitely of good value. Any local competition will have to raise its game to avoid being put in the shade.......
The staff at this restaurant have not been very friendly during our recent visits. It seems like they view us as an inconvenience. It was strange to feel like we had done something wrong just by entering the shop and ordering fish and chips, especially since that is clearly advertised on their door (although it appears they may no longer serve it?).
I previously wrote a review that was removed for unknown reasons. I have lived on the outskirts of Wimborne my whole life and have always gone to Long Johns for fish and chips. However, we decided to try this new fish and chip shop and unfortunately, we will not be returning. The fish was undercooked and the chips had blue patches. The portion sizes are very small for the price - I counted only 14 chips with my small cod, which cost £1.50. I do not think this is enough chips at all. I do not recommend this place.
We ordered fish and chips online for a 6:15pm pick-up. We arrived at the restaurant, stood in line while practicing social distancing, and collected our order on time. The meal was absolutely delicious and made for an excellent evening. Thank you!
