Nearly didn’t go after reading previous reviews but we were very pleased. Good portions of cod and chips. The fish was nice and white and the batter crisp, the chips were lovely, not too greasy. We ordered in the shop and didn’t have to wait to long. As fish and chips go they were very nice.
I went back to get an exchange meal after a previous visit because the management company told me that they would investigate the very poor quality of my fish and chips takeaway. Why did I expect a different outcome?. Todays offer was slightly better quality than before but the batter was still too crispy and greasy with the fish overcooked. The chips were just OK but vastly below par when compared with a Ferndown chippie (Karsberg) and the quantity is far less with the cost greater at Harlees. I will travel to Ferndown rather than eat these poorly prepared offerings in the future.
Bit naughty, but had jumbo sausage and chips Friday, chips disgusting not chipped properly. Weird colour and taste. Saturday night big order, for family. I did say our chips were not good the previous evening. The girl said check them. I did and they seemed ok. But when we got home again, dark coloured , joined together, and raw, strange dry taste. Like they had been reheated from night before. For God sake sort something out, we always come to Harlees, but not anymore. Such a shame.
We called in Saturday night for quick meal after beach. The front doors were locked! it was 20.00? The shop was busy and there were people waiting for their orders. There were lots of staff inside, all chatting and goofing about behind the counter. No one came to assist us. Another lady turned up and made her way in through the exit and got served so we followed suit. Got our order after a wait. Got to car and just checking as orders are often wrong from Harlees, and surprise surprise it was the wrong order. We took it back in and the girl behind the counter tried to give it to the man who had ordered! I said He should have fresh food we 've had our hands in that She seemed annoyed and grunted You 'll have to wait at him! No apology or anything. Then she gave us our Correct order which we again checked and this time it was missing a jumbo sausage. Guys, if you want to go home early, give your job to someone who cares, you are seriously damaging this business. Bosses: find out what your staff are up to and change them, this is happening all the time. regular customers such as us will not return as this is becoming the norm!
