Barnes Noble Cafe - East Brunswick

Well the place did have some good ideas like local authors etc, but somehow felt that it lost its mojo. As a book liver I missed the old excitement that Barnes and Noble offered. But still a great place to visit, just ot the place it once was.

I hadn't been in a book store in a while. It was clean and well stocked. We found what we were looking for semi easily... not many people hanging out and reading. 0 kids in the children's area

Plenty of book, game educational selections Peaceful place to read there, or take it home. Plenty of parking and handicap ?? accessibility. I am going there again soon.

On a positive note, I do enjoy the current romance section, where selected works by Black and LGBTQ+ authors are displayed prominently. I hope that remains in place. Why not celebrate and promote diverse voices to help them gain visibility? I've had previous issues with the store manager, Liz, who is often rude and has a poor attitude. While some of the booksellers are incredibly helpful and kind, I avoid asking Liz for assistance. I once witnessed an uncomfortable interaction where she made a disparaging comment towards a bookseller who was helping me, and I could tell it affected the bookseller deeply. When I later inquired if Liz was in a bad mood, the bookseller laughed it off but her discomfort was evident. It's clear that even the staff feel uneasy around Liz. Given the choice, I'd prefer to spend an extra 20 minutes traveling to the Barnes & Noble in Edison instead.

The selection of books and magazines is always impressive. However, the bathrooms are not cleaned regularly. There was no toilet paper and no hand towels available for drying hands.
