Upon questioning her the reason why she failed to explain and let us sit. Meanwhile another customer was seated nearby. She did not know the soup of the day and could not explain what pork medallion was. She had to bring another waitress to explain. In short she couldn 't understand English. Having ordered our food we were then told the dining area was fully booked and our table was set away from the dining room ...an area for light food and earlier we were given a table in the bar area. It is now 13:45 and there is nobody in the fully booked area and we are done and paid our bill. In short extremely poor service and customer care for a highly rated hotel internationally. Otherwise we enjoyed our duck and pork medallions which was superb. It 's 13:49 and we are sadly leaving.
I phoned the restaurant on the 12th December to book a table for 3 at 18.30 hours as we were booked in the hotel. I checked in and asked them to confirm my booking, we were told there was no table as there was a party on. I was really angry the manager said he would sort it. He came back to tell me that it was not possible to dine in the restaurant but a table had been reserved for us in the bar. I double checked as we had a child with us. I was reassured that a table was booked and though we would eat in the bar it was the restaurant menu. No apology! We arrive at the bar where they had removed most of the menus, bar menus, very different to the restaurant menu. There was no reserved table either- liar. The food was very good but it was not a restaurant menu it was bar food. Frankly I am sick of big hotel chains such as this treating customers with such disregard. They are only interested in cashing in on drunken Christmas party goers. Well thank you Crowne Plaza you well and truly spoilt a special treat, hope you are happy because I am not.
I believe there were three different menus to choose from at this restaurant, featuring a variety of international cuisines. Ultimately, I opted for the chilli chicken with egg fried rice. I found the dish to be lacking in flavor and the chicken to be somewhat lacking in texture. However, it did satisfy my hunger and my colleagues enjoyed their meals. The service was a bit erratic, but overall the prices were reasonable.
Take 7 meals (6 Breakfast and a set dinner) during our exchange tour. The waiters and waitresses are friendly and helpful. The manager is absolutely friendly, a nice gentleman from HK. Our tour get 16 members, most of them felt satisfactory. Food is worthy, especially nice for Asians(Chinese, Japanese). A convenient and nice choice. Recommended
I ate here while staying at the the hotel. The food is good and there is a decent selection of items. I found the staff friendly and helpful. It also offers breakfast for hotel guests with a nice selection of cereals, pastries, fruit and cooked breakfast. It is also open from 6am for those of us on business who have to get to the office early.
