Siamo stati in questo ristorante come ultimo giorno della nostra visita in Canada. Eravamo molto stanchi del solito steak frites e Poutine che si trova da queste parti. In più volevamo visitare il vecchio quartiere. E così passeggiando abbiamo scoperto questo delizioso ristorantino portoghese. Qualche piccola difficoltà nel capire il nome dei piatti (in portoghese), ma l'accoglienza è stata fantastica e ci siamo seduti più che curiosi di testare questo locale. Abbiamo mangiato delle squisite crocchette di carne e di pesce un ottimo pollo ed uno strepitoso chorizo. Per finire ovviamente la pasteis de nata ed un conto più che accettabile, visto che siamo in Canada.

I like the cozy ambiance. The chicken plate was delicious! The only negative point is that the restaurant has no air-conditioning system on.

We first stopped in here for dessert after leaving a restaurant where we'd had terrible service. The doughnuts with caramel sauce were delicious, even though they didn't have my first choice of wine, the one I did end up with was lovely.A few days later we came for lunch I had the best poutine I had in Canada (and I tried quite a few) it was delicious and possibly the best thing I ate in 3 weeks in Canada. I would definitely recommend it.

It started off on a bad note when I asked for one wine from their list, which they did not have, asked a second, ditto, they did not have it available. Ok, I calm down and ask for a recommendation. It turned out to be a pleasant wine. I'm not sure he got my hint though that you should not fill the glass close to the rim.Then, we inquired about the charcuterie plate, what they call the mixta iberico, which I felt was somewhat expensive at $20 but I thought it would at least be a nice plate and especially that the waiter said it would be more than enough for 4 people. Well, out of the three types of meat -- saucisson, chorizo and jambon -- they ran out of jambon. So they added a bit more of the saucisson and chorizo. But what a poor-looking plate. The charcuterie was presented on wax paper on a board, looking like it was just tossed together rapidly from the slicing machine, by some amateur, with no olives or anything else to make this plate more presentable. And still charging us the full $20 for the plate!?!? I felt cheated. I could have complained but there were so many faux-pas that I wanted to finish this meal and leave as quickly as possible. There was also no bread. We had to ask for some bread with the charcuterie. What we got were a few tiny slices of stale bread. Yuk! And the salad in the grilled octopus plate, well, some pieces were well past their due date.The main meal was ok, nothing extraordinary, but ok, and certainly not worth the price we paid. The waiter also forgot our side order of salads and we had to ask twice more.We ordered a second bottle of wine and, oh dear, I have never seen someone so inept at opening and serving a bottle of wine. He asked if I wanted to taste the wine, I said ok, he poured spilling some on the table and glass, I said it was good, poured me some more, and placed the bottle on the table without serving my other 3 guests. I had to pour the wine myself.These were not cheap wines and not a cheap menu, yet, the waiters were very amateurish not understanding restaurant service and etiquette. One waiter had first described the fish of the day that was served at lunch. He came back and corrected himself, i.e. not available for dinner.All in all a terrible dining experience.

Wir bekamen diesen Insidertipp von unserem Tourguide am Vormittag, da sich dieses portugiesische Restaurant nicht ganz im Touristenzentrum befindet, jedoch vom Hafen aus zu Fuß auch gut erreichbar. Essen war super - unbedingt das Poutine probieren - und die Atmosphäre total nett. Es waren auch viele Einheimische zu dem Zeitpunkt im Restaurant, was ja ein gutes Zeichen ist. Service war sehr bemüht und das Preis Leistungs Verhältnis stimmt auf jeden Fall. Wir wären gerne noch ein zweites Mal hingegangen, wenn wir nicht am nächsten Tag abgereist wären.
