Café Holt - Montreal

As stated in the title of this review, I had a cappuccino and it was perfectly balanced. My friend had a tartar and the size of the dish was really disappointing. In addition, there was almost no sauce on it. I wouldn't recommend this place for a lunch, but the quality of the coffee makes it worth trying Café Holt if you like coffee.

If you need a break from shopping up a storm this is a good place to stop. The good d is fresh and tasty. Our mushroom soup was superb as was the salmon tartar. Give it a try.

Even though it is a bit on the expensive side, the overall experience is worth the money. A perfect place to have a Sunday brunch/lunch with family and friends. It's clean and simple decor are well intended not to distract you from your company. Food quality is very good and consistent. However, it's bread (being fancy) comes all the way from Paris, France. That's cool but you can imagine freshness will not be its forte. Service is very good. But if the cafe is super busy, you may feel a bit neglected. No matter, we will continue to return.

The food was very good and the service was very quick as we were all very hungry from site seeing and it was very good quality food at a great price.

This is a very nice restaurant on the lower level of the Holt Renfew Store on Rue Sherbrooke Ouest. Whenever we are shopping in downtown Montreal, we try to plan for lunch at Café Holt. We have had lunch here 6 or 7 times over the years and have never been disappointed. The setting is clean and modern. Wine and spirits are available. On our most recent visit we had Salmon and Surf and Turf, followed by a dessert consisting of a selection of very small fruit cakes and topped off with fresh espresso. Wait staff are attractive and efficient. Enjoy, relax and plan the remainder of your afternoon shopping!
