Maybe one and only food stop you could get on the way to the east side. But very friendly and lots of choices to eat. We stopped by twice on the way to Halawe valley to get drinks and foods.
Favorite spot to eat on Molokai. We stayed at Wavecrest and returned to Manae's several times. It was more economical to eat here than cook for ourselves at the condo. Breakfast was good and portions were plentiful. I ordered the grilled Mahi Mahi 2 times. This little spot is a gem.
At the east end of Moloka’i is what was once known as “The Neighborhood Store,” a vital enterprise for rural residents far from Kaunakakai, and people on their way to the beach. We’ve been getting groceries and takeout from Manae Goods Grindz for over 20 years. The nicest staff. The grocery always has a selection of poke, local baked goods, beer, wine and the Molokai Dispatch newspaper. We love the counter for its daily specials. Yesterday I had an Ahi Burger, with plentiful filets, lettuce so fresh it tastes like it was just picked, tomatoes and their secret sauce. The delicious Mahi Mahi Burger is a regular go-to. The daily special plates are favorites of the Hawaiian workers who frequent the takeout restaurant (mmmm the katsu). Breakfast and lunch takeaway and I always get the pancakes with 2 eggs and sausage, our first day of arrival. Fun watching and appreciating the locals for whom Manae is a hub. I always feel honored to be among the patrons and their kids. Lunch counter is closed on Wednesdays!
Nice locally owned store, highly recommend. Very friendly, store is clean, service is excellent.
