Town Tavern - Duryea

I used to frequent Tavern before the year 2000 and always enjoyed their Cajun wings, which had won numerous awards. After moving to Arizona, I never found a wing sauce I liked as much as theirs. It had been many years since I had visited North Eastern Pennsylvania, but on a recent trip back to see family, Tavern was a must-visit on my list. Despite some mixed reviews, the experience exceeded my expectations after 22 years. Our server, Ashley, was also the bartender and was incredibly friendly to us, three strangers in her dining room. She informed me that they still had the Cajun wings I loved so much. My husband worked with Justin, one of the chefs, to customize a wing sauce to his liking. I opted for the Cajun garlic sauce, while my sister chose a hot parmesan sauce. The wings arrived hot, crispy, and generously coated in sauce. I highly recommend Tavern for their wings and also enjoyed the Italian Grinder that my brother-in-law took home. My sister plans to return to Tavern in the future to try more of their delicious offerings. The best part of the visit was discovering that I could order their sauce to be sent to Arizona, meaning I never have to go without my beloved Cajun wing sauce again!

This family-run restaurant in the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre area is the best by far! The award-winning wings are consistently delicious and the staff is top-notch.

The wings are excellent and always consistent at this restaurant. The staff is great and we are willing to drive 45 minutes just to enjoy them.

Great food! Great service! Rotating food specialities. Best soup. Very reasonable prices. Many TVs and bartenders have no problem changing the channel to what you want to see.

This was our first time stopping in and we are happy that we did. The mango habenero and sweet thai chili wings were delicious. Service was also great and the place is very clean. We will definitely be back.
