Golden Fish Inn - Durham

We ordered fish and chips and salt and pepper tinted fish. The tartar sauce had a surprising sweetness to it, and while the tinted fish was more flaky than spicy, it was still delightful, paired with a maple and bourbon sauce. The cod was good, but next time I would prefer to order smaller portions. The chips could have used a bit more salt and vinegar to enhance their flavor.

This is the best fish and chips I've ever had! We dine here at least once a week. The quality of the food is far superior to any of the other chip shops in Consett. I highly recommend the fish and chips, the cod and cheddar fish cake, and the cheesepatty!

I visited this restaurant after hearing amazing things about it, and it truly lives up to the hype. It's simply the best in the business. They have a fantastic new selection of gluten-free options, which I really appreciate. I enjoyed the broth, the fish, and the spicy curry – all were delicious. The atmosphere here is also wonderful, making it a perfect dining experience.

Abo-Specials are amazing from this place. Especially the king prawns. they are huge. good. beautiful selection of sauces and dips but my favorite is the maple and bourbon

Me and the wife came down after a long day of work. Everything is piping hot and cooked to order. Nice little hidden gem. Bringing consett on the map. We got halloumi fries in batter and fish and chips. Never disappoints
