Saltbox Seafood Joint - Durham

This restaurant was a fantastic addition to the community, but unfortunately, it has closed. Yesterday marked its last day of operation. It's a shame to see it go, especially with new condominiums being built nearby. However, customers can still visit their other location in the city.

The fish and chips were beautifully seasoned. I thoroughly enjoyed the fried trout, and the chips were fantastic as well. They were more like baked, thinly sliced potato chips, which I actually loved. The seasoning was mild, with just a hint of Cajun powder on the trout that was nicely done. The portions weren't large, and it wasn't overly filling, making it the perfect choice for lunch.

I visited the restaurant today after a peaceful lunch and absolutely loved the vibe. The food was amazing, just as I expected. The lush honey sauce had lost a bit of its "homemade" taste, but I couldn't stop eating it with the honey glaze! I shared an oyster roll with my partner, and without a doubt, it was the best fried oysters I've ever had. The dish was unique, and I really enjoyed it. The serene atmosphere of the place adds to its charm, making it hard to believe that such delicious food can come from any kitchen. That's a huge compliment!

Pleasantly surprised. I love seafood and not everyone knows how to prepare it well. this place has surpassed my expectations! the food was good, the proportions were great and the preparation time of the meal was fast as it was cooked to order. I'm back!

I took one bite of the food and declared it my favorite place in Durham. My boyfriend liked it too and he normally doesn't like fish. I will never want hush puppies without honey again. The oyster and flounder rolls were great. And the staff was super friendly.
