Makus Empanadas - Durham

Makus is now one of my top favorite spots in Durham. I work nearby and decided to give them a try, and I was not disappointed. The veggie, sweet corn, and spinach empanadas are perfect for non-meat eaters. The service was outstanding and made me want to return just to try more dishes. The food is delicious and the prices are very reasonable. If you’re looking for a new place to try out, I highly recommend Makus!

So delicious. I have a Veggie One (picture) and I'm sinking and I'm eating one. 10/10 would go back! small but filled! good price! ps: they bake a letter in the outside to let them know what empanada this is! so sweet!

Empanadas were all very good as the buzz and tears. the prices are appropriate. good variety of empanadas and can not wait to try each of them. the staff was very nice and friendly.

This was my first time eating empanadas from here. I got the beef empanadas which are supposed to be the most popular, and the sweet corn. I wasn’t that keen on the beef one. It had like refried beans or something in it, I prefer empanadas prepared a different way. That’s what’s great about empanadas there’s a wide variety. Anyways I never tried a sweet corn empanadas though and that was surprisingly delicious. I will definitely return and get the sweet corn empanadas and try other ones. No complaints on service or ordering.

Nothing was wrong with the empanadas I ordered, but like others said they are a little dry and bland. I wouldn't order the chicken again, but the pepperoni and sweet corn fillings were really good. Loved the rice. I was looking for a healthier alternative to all the fried fast food in the area. I'll probably come back.
