Przekaż informację zwrotnąWe drove into town to give this restaurant a try since it was open. Unfortunately, it did not live up to our expectations. The food did look very appetizing, though.
Viewed from the road, Le Petit Glouton is really “petit”. Nevertheless, for inclement weather there is a very small dining room seating up to 8 patrons. I stopped by on a warm sunny day and ate at one of the picnic tables. The menu includes frites, poutines, hamburgers, hotdogs, pizza in various sizes… plain cheese or “with everything”, a range of “complete meals” (which mostly means including either French fries or poutine)… club sandwiches, hot sandwiches, spaghetti, etc. Also miscellaneous items such as chicken wings, onion rings, chicken fingers, ice cream, etc. All-in-all, a fairly ambitious menu for a very small establishment. No fish
Only good Asian place in Cognac on a Sunday nightPretty decent yakitori and sashimiRice is a little hard but adequate.
Seen from the road, le petit glouton is really “petit”. yet there is a very small dining room for up to 8 months for inclement weather. Club sandwiches, hot sandwiches, spaghetti, etc. also various items such as chicken wings, shady rings, chicken fingers, ice cream, etc. all in all a quite ambitious menu for a very small facility. no fish chips. in my somewhat mangled franglais I ordered the club roaming with French fries. who smiled on the theke and told me: “You can speak English if you want it doesn’t matter”... and then I wondered if I knew what a club was running. I told her no, but that seemed like a good opportunity to learn. so she explained that it “as a club sandwich, but with hamburger instead of chicken meat”. sounds good, so I stayed at my order. and when my order arrived, it was a really good sandwich. toast crisp, salat crisp, tomaten fresh. the French pommes were plentiful and really good. not quite on the Belgian frites standard, but clearly better than I had experienced in other food levels in the last month. hot and very sharp. at the picnic table, I talked to other travelers. they shared a huge part of the poutine quebecoise. they told me that they camp, lived about 100 miles away on the ontario side of the province border and then exaggerated how good their poutine was. “so much better than anything they could get in ontario.” I am not personally a poutine aficionado, but about the word of the mouth for what it is worth. additional notes. as expected, not licensed for alcohol. no wlan for the patrons. despite its small size, a better than average street side stand. translated into an evaluation of good average restaurant.
The food at this restaurant is absolutely amazing!
