Great atmosphere, casual eating, unpretentious, funny decor. run by master sommelier christopher bates, with an incredible wine and beer selection. the carrot dog and the woofer rings were excellent, with finger lakes riesling from the hahn.
I was so excited to try this place because of the Carrot Veggie dog I had in another restaurant on the ground. at flx they get a carrot cut in 1/2 and not that has much taste, besides the overpriced toppings. they can all sorts of toppings for what like a terrible amount for just toppings. even though they get a lot of pommes, they were very fat. the calorie splurge on the oreo stout milkshake was worth it and the best there.
During our last visit, we were informed that everything was cooked in lard. We are unsure if this is still the practice, but because of this, we opted to dine elsewhere.
I was eagerly anticipating trying this restaurant because of the delicious carrot veggie dog I had at another place. However, at FLX, the carrot dog was disappointing as it lacked flavor and was overpriced with toppings. There was a wide variety of toppings available, but they seemed expensive for what they were. The fries that came with the meal were greasy. The highlight of the meal was the indulgent Oreo Stout milkshake, which was worth the calorie splurge and was the standout dish on the menu.
