Unfortunately, the food was quite bland, and the roast potatoes were among the worst I've ever encountered—pale in color and greasy. The staff were lovely, but I won’t be returning. It's disappointing, as this place used to serve fantastic food.
The food was delicious, the service was impeccable, and the staff were incredibly friendly. The cleanliness and overall warm, welcoming atmosphere made the Carrickdale feel just like home during our stay. I highly recommend the Carrickdale for anyone looking to host their wedding, and I especially suggest reaching out to Emily for her exceptional coordination skills.
My partner, mother, and I celebrated my birthday at this restaurant, and we had a fantastic experience. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. The carvery was just as delicious as ever, and the food was outstanding. My mother required a bit of extra assistance, and the staff was more than willing to help. The roast meals were tender and flavorful, with generous portion sizes that could easily satisfy two people. The warm hospitality of the staff truly elevated our experience. Overall, this restaurant is a wonderful spot with delicious food and exceptional service. I highly recommend it!
I stayed here to celebrate a birthday with some friends, and it was a fantastic experience. Every staff member we interacted with, from the reception to the waitstaff and bar staff, was incredibly friendly and helpful. The birthday girl received a lovely massage, and the staff went above and beyond by surprising her with a special dessert for the occasion. We will definitely be coming back!
The restaurant offered a traditional Sunday dinner featuring meat with two sides, stuffing, gravy, and roast potatoes. The menu included options like ham, beef, turkey, battered chicken with chili sauce, and salmon. I chose the beef and ham, both of which were cooked to perfection and tasted fantastic. While the meal lacked some of the more elaborate touches, such as Yorkshire puddings or pepper sauce, it had the comforting feel of a homemade Sunday dinner. I decided to skip the stuffing, gravy, and roast potatoes in favor of cabbage, mashed potatoes, and a mix of carrots and parsnips. The English mustard provided was a bit tricky to open, and unfortunately, it wasn't Colman's. The rest of my family chose turkey and ham, which they also enjoyed. Cappuccinos were reasonably priced at €3.80 and were delightful. The staff was friendly, and the meal offered excellent value in a time when prices can be steep.
