Definitely a hidden jewel in Duncanville! The baked beans have tons of taste with additional spices and garlic. The tuna is also fresh and tasteful! But what the show stole was the baked potato (not getting a picture, eating it too fast)! The bacon was REAL (not the chewing bits you get in other places) and it was perfectly cooked. Went for a walk in the branch after the walk from the food Koma and found some great candles! One stop shop for lunch and home decoration!
I visit this beautiful place often! This is my favorite place to go through a nice evening. I regularly go to this place. Cooking is very good, the team is polite and the prices are reasonable. I enjoy having a decent meal at this place.
I really loved this place back in the day. A Duncanville staple for years and with lots of great memories. (The pastrami sandwiches were my go to. My mom loved the tuna salad sandwich &Of course, the kids just go for the ice cream! My daughter asked for us to go this Saturday. We had not been in 2 years. Went to the counter, ordered a grilled cheese sandwich for my little girl, ice cream for my son, and of course, her meal came with the ice cream. We took our seat. And waited? And waited? And waited? 15 minutes later, we have a lady come to the table and asked us if we wanted our drinks now or with the meal. I told her that it doesn?t matter. She then proceeded to tell me, ?well, that?s why I?m here?, in a scolding manner. (She did not seem happy with us at all. I responded to her that it doesn?t matter. She walked away without saying anything. I know that I should?ve gone to the counter and should have said something, but I have one of the most squirmy sweet little autistic boys and was having a pleasant conversation with my daughter. I thought that surely, they would notice. The sweet lady who took our order at the counter came to the table and asked us if we had received anything. I told her that we had not receive anything. ?It had been about 40 minutes at that point. (Keep in mind, this was only a grilled cheese sandwich, lemonade, and two small ice creams. I should have said something, but, assumed that they would?ve seen us since we were with an eye shot. After the sweet lady, who took our order, came to the table, we received a cold grilled cheese sandwich by an apologetic employee who immediately said that she was going to refund us our money. I said that she did not have to. However, she insisted. -However employee who asked us about our drinks was not happy to have us there. Condescending. The service almost felt like we were intruding and not welcomed; with the exception of two of the staff members, one of whom refunded us. I want to like this place so much, but I do not feel like we will be going there for food again. We don?t want to go to a place where we are treated this way. Thanks for all the memories, however! And thank you to the kind sweet lady who refunded us. If I could give you five stars, I would. But the service, unfortunately reflects on all.
Through my travels around the world, I have yet to encounter another place quite like Kitchen 's Deli. For decades, their food seems to have a magical ambiance that exudes the epitome of simplicity, wholesome goodness, love, and comfort. (Yes, I believe possibly they have access to Care Bears or a time portal to mothers/grandmothers from yesteryears who prepare their menu items. Also, their food is all the more seasoned by a delightful atmosphere that makes you feel as if you have been transported back to a time when soda jerks and penny candies were all the rage. If you want a scrumptious sandwich, wonderfully-fresh fare chock full of veggies, comforting soups chili (dare I say, 'Frito Pie?! ' , and delectable desserts like chocolate- or coconut-cream pie, you must at least once get your lunch at Kitchen 's Deli. To this end, be warned, if you find something you absolutely love on their menu, don 't expect to be able to find another place to have it or prepare it anywhere as well. In my case, I almost regret the day I first tried their stuffed tomato because I have yet to find another dining establishment that makes it as well as Kitchen 's Deli.
