Mount Stewart - Dumfries Galloway

I had a wonderful dining experience at the restaurant with stunning views of the sea. We started with mussels to share and then enjoyed lamb and pancakes for our main course. Unfortunately, we were too full for dessert this time, but maybe next time. The staff was friendly and I highly recommend this place. Can't wait to visit again when I'm in beautiful Port Patrick, hopefully when the weather is warmer.

I recently visited this restaurant for both food and drinks. The food was great and well presented, and the prices were reasonable. The location was fantastic and the staff were friendly and attentive. I couldn't fault anything about our visit and will definitely stay at the hotel on my next visit to Portpatrick.

The restaurant has a flashy atmosphere, but offers high-quality coffees and excellent service at a very affordable price.

Service absolutley horrendous. Waited at table 10 minutes, then had to get up and go to find a waiter to get a drink. Asked for a bottle of red wine to find out 5 minutes later they never had that one. Asked for another choice, then waited another 5 minutes to find out they never had that. Starters were poor. Mains were poor. Dessert ok, but expensive. Excuses were manager was off and understaffed. To then leave and see waitresses all spread out on sofas chilling out hit a nerve. If you like poor service, and Fawlty Towers, then this is the place for you!

Not as good as it was. Have eaten here a few times and it’s always been very good. Last night overall was really poor. Table was for four. Had to send one of the starters back as the mussels were cold. We should have sent the other mussels starter back but that diner didn’t want to make a fuss and tried and failed to eat it. The replacement starter was fine. Lo and behold the diner who had endured the cold mussels was then given a burnt pizza which again was inedible. Of the other three mains, the fish and chips and the lasagne were really good but the sauce for the meatballs was basically just bland and mediocre. In fairness the staff deducted the mussels and the pizza from the bill but we would rather have eaten and paid for them. The waiting team do work really hard but they don’t seem to be getting any coaching or management direction. It’s a real shame because this place is in a stunning location and is creatively and interestingly decorated and furnished. Need to up their game.
