Nana's Kitchen - Dumas

Wow! This place is incredible! The food is amazing, and the staff is fantastic. The hash browns are the best I've ever had—I almost asked the chef for her secret recipe. And the salsa? I would travel anywhere just for it!

A group of women gathers here weekly for three weeks for breakfast, coffee, and camaraderie. The food is delicious, and the service is excellent. Today, one of the staff members came over to our table to share that she enjoys working here, which added a nice personal touch to our experience.

After a two-month hiatus, we decided to revisit the restaurant. They remembered us and apologized for our previous visit. The service was reminiscent of what we had experienced in the past, which is usually excellent unless they're busy—then longer wait times are expected. However, on this occasion, we felt completely overlooked. After a while, we had to place our own order, and then we were not checked on again. After sitting there for over an hour with only drinks served, I had to leave to get back to work. When we received the bill, they attempted to charge us for the entire meal, but I corrected them to just reflect the drinks. I was then told that I came off as rude for speaking up—there was no scene, just an honest expression of disappointment. To make matters worse, a person I assumed was the manager brushed us off as if we didn’t matter. Given that we are regular customers, I expected so much more from this visit.

I had eggs, bacon, toast, hash browns and an honest goodness latte. The food was very good and the portions were unusually large. The only reason I didn't have 5 stars is because of the appearance of the restaurant. It is a very simple, naked bone type of space. Doesn't look like much, but the food is very good and you get a lot for your money. I'd definitely go back.

I have been there twice and both times, the experience there has been great. The eggs were made to perfection, bacon was crisp and the coffee is to die for. I will keep going to NANA'S, everytime I come to see my family.
